How Do I Become a Biomedical Engineering Tech?

The discipline of biomedical engineering is a discipline that solves the problems in medicine, protects human health, and serves the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of diseases. It is a highly integrated interdisciplinary subject, which is its greatest feature.

Biomedical Engineering

Biomedical engineering is an engineering specialty
In fact, biomedical engineering is not under the jurisdiction of the medical profession, but rather an engineering discipline. It belongs to the major of computer and electronics. After graduation, it is not a bachelor of medicine, but a bachelor of engineering. At present, biomedical engineering is developed by integrating the theories of biology, medicine, and engineering. Due to the organic integration of multiple disciplines, it is different from traditional classic disciplines such as biology and medicine, and it is also different from pure. Engineering discipline.
Biomedical engineering mainly uses engineering techniques to study and solve relevant problems in biology and medicine, involving biological materials, artificial organs, biomedical signal processing methods, medical imaging and image processing methods, etc., in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases And rehabilitation play a huge role. Its purpose is to solve the related problems in medicine, protect human health, and serve for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of diseases.
Technologies such as artificial organs, ultrasound imaging, CT, and nuclear magnetic resonance are now widely used in clinical medicine. These great achievements that change the trajectory of human life come from biomedical engineering technology. It is the direction of biomedical engineering that cultivates specialized personnel in this field.
Biomedical engineering students mainly learn the basic theories and basic knowledge of life sciences, electronic technology, computer technology and information science, and receive basic training in electronic technology, signal detection and processing, and computer technology applications in medicine. Basic research and development capabilities.
1. Master the basic principles and design methods of electronic technology;
2. Grasp the basic theory of signal detection and signal processing and analysis;
3. Have basic knowledge of biomedicine;
4, with microprocessor and computer application capabilities;
5. Have preliminary capabilities in biomedical engineering research and development;
6. Have certain basic knowledge of humanities and social sciences;
7. Understand the development of biomedical engineering;
8. Master the basic methods of literature retrieval and data query.
"
The main practical teaching links are:
1. Learning science: study the rules of learning, and study how students can effectively transfer from original knowledge and ability to new knowledge and ability.
2. Bioinformatics: realize the organic combination of biotechnology and information technology and other disciplines, develop high-throughput, efficient, and rapid extraction methods of biological information, develop new methods and technologies for disease detection, and develop research on the role of drugs and targets. New methods, development of computer processing, analysis and visualization of genomic, proteomic and structural genomic data, analysis of the relationship between the structure and function of biological macromolecules, etc.

Employment prospects
Can be used in regulatory agencies and national agencies, medical institutions (clinical research, highly specialized medical care, management), in the use, sale and service of medical devices, research institutes, universities (basic research, teaching), international pharmaceuticals, health Companies (management, research and development), private institutions and doctors, graduates can directly participate in highly specialized medical care and solve basic clinical research problems, and the equipment and systems developed by them for the observation, diagnosis and treatment of diseases Relief plays a very important role.
Employment direction
The main destinations of student employment are research institutions, hospital imaging, equipment, clinical engineering, information centers and other related departments, medical device-related companies, institutions, and government-related management departments.
