Superficial inguinal lymph nodes collect lymph fluid from the lower extremities, perineum, external genitalia, buttocks, and areas below the anterior umbilicus of the anterior wall. Its output tube is injected into the external iliac lymph nodes.
The superficial inguinal lymph nodes collect the lymph of the entire superficial structure of the lower limbs except for the lateral margins of the feet and the sides of the lower legs.
There are about 600 to 700 lymph nodes in the human body. Generally, only superficial lymph nodes in the body can be examined clinically. Superficial lymph nodes in healthy people are small, not more than 1 cm in diameter, soft in texture, smooth in surface, hard to reach, and free of tenderness and adhesion to adjacent tissues.
