On March 6, 2014, the Malaysian government issued a statement banning the Malay version of the Japanese Superman: Ultimate Power comic book. The Ministry of the Interior, which is responsible for reviewing and filtering publications in Malaysia, stated that the book was banned because it contained "elements that threaten public safety."
On March 7, 2014, the Malaysian Ministry of the Interior issued a statement explaining the reasons for banning Superman: Ultimate Strength. Mainly because the book refers to "Ultraman King" as "Allah". The Ministry of the Interior considers Ultraman King to be a child's idol. Calling Ultraman King by "Allah" will confuse the child's mind and impact the belief of Muslim children. The Ministry of the Interior believes that "Allah" is holy and sensitive to Malaysian Muslims. Irresponsible abuse can irritate Muslims, threaten public peace, and shake the minds of the masses.
The ban on "Ultraman" comics has once again caused controversy between domestic conservative Muslims and right-wing Malay ethnic groups, and both parties frequently spoke high-profilely and mobilized supporters to express their positions on the matter. Public opinion here believes that this incident once again warns that the relationship between Muslims and Christians in Malaysia has lost its former harmony and harmony.
