Imaging spectroscopy was established in the 1980s. Based on traditional spectroscopy, it combines traditional spectroscopy and imaging technology to obtain many Techniques for very narrow and spectrally continuous image data. A new type of remote sensing instrument designed by this technology is called imaging spectrometer. Imaging spectrometers usually record image data continuously for more than a hundred spectral channels.
